Outside

Shea and Wes love to spend time outside - we either sit on the front porch or hang out in the backyard.  They love to watch Winston and Porter run around outside.  They have started the covered patio on the back of our house and hopefully by the end of this week it will be complete and we can spend a lot more time in the backyard.

Cousin Michael

Cousin Michael came to visit the "City Kids" with Grandma Bonnie.  He was not impressed with all the fences.  Shea and Wes will have to come visit Michael, Pete, and Tom to see what "farm" life is like :)  Rob and I also think Shea looks similar to Michael as a baby (as rob said it might be that she has so many boy cousins).

Wes's First Big Boy Bath - 6/4/11

Wes took his first bath in the "big boy tub" on June 4th - he loved it.  He was a little too long for the "baby tub" - Shea is still in the baby tub for a bit longer :)

8 months old - 6/1/11

Oh how time flies - and I wish I could slow it down.  I cherish each and every moment with Shea and Wes and they seem to be going by too fast.  On Wednesday Shea and Wes turned 8 months old.  They can both roll over and sit up.  They have not started crawling yet but I am thinking Shea might by the time she turns 9 months - not so sure about Wes ;).  Their little personalities continue to develop every day.  Wes is the most laid back happy boy ever.  You can literally just point at him and he will laugh - he is so easy to entertain.  Shea makes you work a little harder to get a laugh - but when she does it makes you laugh because it sounds like a fake laugh - it isn't just sounds like it.  I am working at stopping pumping and have started them on 1/2 formula and 1/2 breast milk and should have enough to reach 10-12 months.  Grandma Bonnie and Cousin Michael came over yesterday to watch Shea and Wes and a good time by all was had.  Grandma Raylene and Grandpa Mike and Uncle Chris came and spent the evening with us which was also very nice.

5-25-11 - Wes's first trip to the Doctors

Wes had his first trip to the doctors today for something other than a well baby check up.  He started with a rash on his elbows and it progressed to his hands, feet, and legs.  When he woke up from his nap his feet were red, swollen, and looked bruised.  So Rob and Shea stayed home and Wes and I headed to our pediatricians office.   Wes weighed in at a lofty 21 lbs and was diagnosed with hand/foot and mouth - which is a virus that needs to run its course.  Wes's ears also looked a little red (from drainage the doctor believes) so he was prescribed his first medicine - Amoxcicillin.  I do have to say that so far - he is the happiest little guy even when sick!!  Here are some pics of the rash:

Sitters

Shea and Wes are perfecting their sitting skills.  Wes is actually very good at it and can sit and only occasionally topples backwards.  Shea is still working on it but is making great progress (although she would like to remind everyone she can roll over and Wes does not on a regular basis yet).  Wes would also like to show everyone his two front teeth (and again remind everyone Shea doesn't have any yet).  Their hasn't been any biting yet - so lets hope it remains that way ;)

Easter & Babysitting
