Christmas Eve - 2011

We celebrated Christmas Eve as we always do - With the Weber's at our house!!! :)  We enjoyed Pizza, dip, chips, etc.   There was lots of activity as always and an attempt at a picture with all the cousins :)   Shea received a doll for the bath, a picnic basket with fun toys and Wes received a basketball game for the tub and a Helicopter.  Shea and Wes both received a tunnel with tent to play with.  They can't wait to see what Santa brings them :)  We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and are grateful for all our family and friends.

Wes's First Hair Cut - 12-14-11

So on 12-14-11  at just shy of 14.5 months, Wes received his first hair cut (so maybe it was more like a trim).  I have been wanting to take him to get it cut as it was a little long - but it is also pretty thin so what really would someone be cutting.  I finally gave in and allowed Rob to cut it (which will not be the case some day - in lets say 5 or 6 years when Shea finally has hair and needs it cut).  It actually did not turn out to bad and Wes did awesome.

Also on a side note, Shea has never been liked to be "confined".  She always wants to face out, she hates riding in a stroller, and recently has started hating riding in a car seat again.  She literally screams almost the whole time.  It is so hard to see her having such a negative reaction to it.  It is not just a little bit of crying.  We purposely did not get the entertainment system when we got the minivan because I didn't want them to watch TV in our vehicles.  Well after borrowing The Ekborg's, we will be investing in one for the van.  It helps Shea actually tolerate the ride.   The stress she goes thru is just not worth it to us.  We did go out and look at Christmas lights tonight as a family and are looking forward to doing it as a tradition every Christmas!!

November - December

So it has been a little while since I updated the blog.  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebrating with the Weber side the Sunday before Thanksgiving and Celebrating with the Turner side on Thanksgiving.  Shea has also had 4 teeth all come in at once so both her and Wes now have 8 each :)

The day after Thanksgiving Rob and I left for Mexico - we were gone until November 30th.  We went with a group of 36 people and we have gone with the same group in the past - it is always a great time.  I did miss Shea and Wes very much - but knew they were in very loving hands staying with Aunt Laura, Uncle Kevin, and cousins Connor, Chloe, Will and Jed.  We enjoyed our time away but were VERY happy to get back to Shea and Wes.

After we got back, we went to Bass Pro Shop for Shea and Wes to see Santa for the first time.  We were very happy and surprised to see that Shea only cried for a brief moment and then both were good.

We also went to the Children's museum and Shea and Wes loved it.  I am sure we will spend a lot of time there in the future.

We had Aunt Jenny come up to take some pictures for us for our Christmas Card (which since I haven't sent it out yet - it is going to be a Happy New Year Card).  Shea and Wes do a pretty good job of leaving the Christmas tree alone (we also only have decorations down about 2/3 of the way on the tree - just out of reach).  Shea and Wes love the tree and music so I love to have Christmas music on and the lights and the tree and just hang out with them!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE FROM THE TURNERS!!!
