Covered Patio and New Swings

Now that the covered patio is done - we are ready to create a back yard oasis.  We will be getting additional patio furniture, Rob will do landscaping, hang lights and get a TV set up out there.  We hung Shea and Wes's swings up and they love them :)  We have spent a lot of time already out there with them playing in their saucer and jumper as they love to be outside.  We are looking forward to having the Weber side over on Saturday and The Turner side over on Sunday to Celebrate the 4th :)

Run Away Dog

So yesterday Shea, Wes, and I were hanging out at home.  We just had a covered patio added to our house ( I will post pics later) and the gutters had been installed in the morning.  I started to feed Wes at 12:30 at put him down for a nap and then fed Shea - (or at least attempted to - she was having none of it) and laid her down.  After that I went to let Porter and Winston in who i let outside before I fed Shea & Wes.  So Porter comes right in and I start calling for Winston only to realize he is not in the yard and the gate is not latched.  As you can imagine my heart sank and I called Rob who informed me I should immediately begin looking for him in the van.  So I had to load up two sleeping babies and go looking for a dog that could be anywhere - including the two big fields around our house - needless to say it was like looking for a needle in a haystack.  I immediately called Laura to see if she was at home and asked her to be on the lookout for Winston.  She kindly offered for her and Connor to drive around looking for him too.  I drove up the hill to where Charleston Homes had our poured foundation crew putting a foundation in just up the hill from us and asked them if they had seen a black and white dog.  They had not but said they would let me know if they did.  So Connor stayed at our house with Porter while Shea and Wes and I continued to drive around in search of Winston.  About 10 minutes later (1.5 hours total of search time) - The Poured Wall guys returned Winston to us.  He had come out of the field to the West of our house.  Needless to say I hope not to be looking for him again.

Here are some pics:

Shea is a very good driver - and always has both hands on the wheel :)

Wes in the hat Aunt Laura brought back for Cousin Chloe and loaned to Shea.  Grandma Bonnie put it on him :)

Shea Bird

Shea had greek yogurt for the first time and loved it (Rob joked that she doesn't need any more protein as the girl has some muscular arms)  Wes on the other hand did not like the yogurt.

Shea loves to play with her tongue - She is always sticking it out and actually holding on to it as in this pic

I turned around this morning and this is what I saw - Wes with Shea's paci - he does not take one

And his little smirk showing he knows what he is doing ;)

Shea's First Doctors Appointment 6-13-11

Wes was supposed to have a follow appointment for his ears and Shea had been pulling on her ear so I decided to make them an appointment.  I called Monday morning and tried to get in at 4:30 so Rob could pick them up and I could meet them there.  No such luck - so my first solo doctors appointment with 2 babies followed.  And needless to say we survived just fine (although I will admit it is bit of a work getting two active babies stripped down to diapers to get weighed in and then redressed when done). There is also no room for a stroller so the juggling to babies, diaper bag, and purse is tested to the max.  Wes checked out with a perfect bill of health and yet again is proofing he loves to eat - 22 lbs 5 oz - gained over a lb in 2.5 weeks.  Shea didn't want to be left behind on having her first ear infection and was prescribed amoxicillan which is what Wes had had.  Shea weighed in at 15 lbs 3 oz's. I also I should invest in a roll of dr's table paper - it definitely keeps them entertained.   Here are some pics from the doctors office and some randoms of Shea from this last week - and again some are sideways - just turn your computer screen ;).

Sadie, Simon, and Aunt Michelle come to babysit

Charleston Homes built a home for Habitat for Humanity.  I volunteered on Thursday to help out.  Aunt Michelle, Sadie, and Simon came over to hang out with Shea and Wes. Here are some pics from their day :)  Wes and Shea have a new car just like the one Grandma Bonnie has - they love it!!

Shea's New Room and Randoms

Shea was moved to her own room on 6/10/11.  Wes is an excellent sleeper - goes down around 7-8 and sleeps until 6-8 a.m.  Shea on the other hand loves to see us during the night - she wakes up about every 4-5 hours.  She used to sleep through the night - not so much currently - we figured it was time to switch them so that we could eventually let her "cry it out" in the middle of the night.  I guess we can't complain too much as they both always go down for naps and bed very easily (we can just lay them in their cribs :)  ).  I will  post some pics once her room is semi done - so now we will need to decorate both their rooms - hopefully we can get this done by the time they are 1.

Wes also has 4 teeth now - the bottom two and the top two - Shea still doesn't have any yet.  Wes also had his first official bite - he bit Aunt Michelle - his godmother - Hopefully we don't have many more :)

I have also stopped pumping - it is done - and I realized this is how my days used to go:

3 hours pumping
5 hours feeding babies/diaper changes
6-7 hours working
2 hours cleaning bottles, bowls from cereal/food
2 hours doing laundry, picking up toys, etc
Leaving 5-6 hours for sleep, playing with babies and miscellaneous

And with that I haven't missed sleep much or been tired.  I also realized we saved over $2,500 by me pumping.  We will see if Shea can have normal formula on their 9 month appointment (Instead of the higher calorie formula).  They have been having 1/2 formula and 1/2 breast milk and doing well.
